  • A wonderful tour of the new M2 condo’s
  • The books wasn’t very popular but sparked great discussion
  • We miss Susan C!

Memorable Moments:

  • A Champagne toast to Susan E for opening the bookshop and to Marci for turning 50
  • Susan C is entertaining job prospects in Arizona and Colorado
  • Lori had a birthday, Anne loves her job :) , Heidi is finding work trying, Marci just got back from Cambodia, Susan C is meeting “the mother” and Susan E is tired but happy with her dual roll

Memorable Moments:

  • Heidi has a truly warm and inviting home with wet towels and swimsuits causing you to smile at every turn!
  • Susan C is continuing to go through a tough time at work. Our thoughts and outrage are with her
  • All the college age children are feeling a little homesick (and maybe hung over) but are doing well.  Mom’s are doing good too!

  • All the college age children are flying the coup.  Congratulations to Danda, Susie, Marci and Susan C for raising such brilliant children who are now off to college

Memorable Moments:

  • Anne has a new job with Palliative Care at the VA in Danville.  She starts on the 20th.  Good luck Anne!
  • Marci is returning to school for nursing.  Good luck on this exciting new adventure!
  • The group (with fabulous organization by Anne) presented Danda with the certificate for her fathers memorial tree.  It will be a beautiful fringe tree.
  • Marci and Danda are preparing to send their sons off to college next month.  An exciting new adventure for the boys and a new chapter in Marci and Danda’s life.  Conversations for many bookclubs meetings to come!

  • This was to be Susan C’s going away party but due to events she will be with us for the summer.  We are both happy (for us) and sad (for her)
  • Marci won her city council race!
  • All agreed that the book was fun but we didn’t spend much time on discussion

Memorable Moments:

  • Due to a lot of circumstances it ended up being just Heidi and I.  We had a great time catching up!
  • Neither Heidi or I had time to read the book so we decided for the group to add it to our next meetings discussion.
 

January 21st, 2009-Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf at Anne’s House January 30, 2009

Menu:  Calzones, salad and lots of wine!  Chocolate Chip cookies for desert :-)

Memorable Moments:

  • The book was challenging (no one actually finished it except Heidi) Marci pointed out that although the book was written in 1925 – Virginia Woolf refrenced Einstein – who at that time was barely known – and we talked some about the Bloomsbury group E.M. Forster, John Maynard Keynes (Economist) Virginia Woolf, Vanessa Bell (Artist) Duncan Grant (Artist) Clive Bell (Art Critic) to name only a few. And that it would be fun to do a literary tour. 
  • Susan’s contemplating a big move! Possibly to Colorado or Texas…either that or she’s going to completely re-make the Parkland Nursing program…one way or the winds of change are blowing
  • Loved Michelle Obama’s Lemongrass outfit and lime green shoes and gloves!
